Monster Release #2

Touching on the quiet nature of our monster here is our prototype showcasing our main mechanic for the monster.

The radius around our monster nullifies all the sound around it, this is to flip the usual sound use in horrors as the sounds start to become louder and more heart racing when a monster is upon you. In our game its all about creating an eerie experience when the monster is near and eliminate all the familiar noises the player has been used to hearing; this includes the sounds the environment can make as well, here is a list of what you may notice:


- Footsteps fading away gradually

- Door sounds no longer there

- Deep breathing after stamina drained

- Puzzle sounds if the monster is near it

- Light Hum

- Background Music

- Sound of landing after jump


When you are under the effect of the monsters you will lose your Sanity slowly and gain it back when you find the special medicine or finish a puzzle. Losing your sanity will be known when the screen makes a narrowed in effect so watch out for that!


Making noises can trigger the monster to your location so you need to be careful and quiet in the presence of the monster. There will be breakables you can throw and distract the monster from your location.
